Look! In the tree! Do you see? It's a...

Squirrel!

Made from a combo of faux fur and needled felted wool. The tail was sewn to a scrap piece of fabric, which was stuffed and stitched, then wool was wrapped around it to create a body. A ball of wool was added for a head, some color, a bit of yarn detail and needled felted together before a hot and soapy bath to create, Rowdy red squirrel! Here he is in action:

First Tote bag completed!

Finally, I got down to crafting with my Spoon Flower fabric. The end result of my first project, a homespun fabric tote, made with my Beauceron's on homespun swatch.

A bit of primitive creation

I had an idea, something simple, to create my own version of a primitive doll in the style of, what else? A Corgi. Although not happy at first at all, setting him aside for a couple months before finally deciding to add the painted details, I must say his design has grown on me. The homespun ribbon just added the final touch to make him perfect, as perfect as a rustic country style creation can be.

Corgi Crafts: Tiny needle felted Corgwn

These two little guys were created by Needle felting. They are solid wool, all except their collars which are silver chain.

They both stand almost exactly 2" tall, and are at 3 and 4 inches long.

Each little Corgi even has carefully detailed paws.

And now, a set of fun shots!

We hope you enjoyed the little photo show of felties!

How to make a felted dog ball

Here is a video I have put together on how to make your own felted ball for you dog. Have fun and enjoy!

And on that note, I have created yet a 3rd ball for my crew. This one I got even more creative with needled felting. The design was made by lightly twisting two strands of different color wool (White and dark brown) together and creatively felting it around the ball, then adding black yarn besides each edge of the spiral to highlight it.

Mmmmm, those yummy liver brownies!

Here is a recipe for the last batch of liver bait I made:

About 1/2 pound of beef heart
About 1 -1/2 pounds liver
About 1/2 an apple chopped
About 2 table spoon of honey
About 1/2 cup of molasses

About a tea spoon of Ginger and garlic
About 3/4 cup flour

With an emersion blender, grind all the ingredients together except flour in a bowl. Sift flower to avoid lumps and fold in. Pour out onto a greased baking sheet, one with sides of coarse, and place in a pre-heated oven at around 2.25 degrees, for about 3 hours.
After removing it from the pan use a pizza cutter to slice the brownies into many small square bites!

The all natural better Tennis ball alternative...

Something the earth, and your dogs teeth will enjoy! Made from one "Racquetball" and a mound of wool roving, this ball was made in about 1-1/2 hours and has so far out lived most ordinary tennis balls! You save money by not having to re-buy new balls every month, you save the landfill by not dumping pounds of broken tennis ball out each month, you save the earth by not buying something produced with a lot of harsh chemicals, and you save your dogs teeth by providing a softer alternative. Here is the end result of my first ever "Wet felted dog ball" project. I did have to go back after a day and add an extra layer to this one, my very first ball, and made the needed improvements with my second ball. I'm really looking forward to making more in the future, right after I can secure a larger stock pile of wool!
